This blend stirred some vivid reactions at our house. For my wife, the tasty overtones of sweet tobacco reminded her of passing by the old cigar shop (complete with a carved Native American statue out front) as a kid. My first thought after drinking it was, "This is the kind of coffee Paul Bunyan would drink!". It's hardy, direct, and sure of itself enough for a slight flair of salted caramel flavor. It may be "complex" as the packaging says, but this brew is also highly drinkable. I love it with eggs, toast, and bacon, a breakfast fit for -- who else? -- a lumberjack.
I love coffee and make it my quest to find the best of the best and this made the list! I like a full bodied coffee but many can stand your hair up straight or leave an acidic aftertaste that will curl your tongue. Not Blue Thunder. It’s so smooth and tasty I need no cream and sugar. I was a little apprehensive of it being a dark roast with smokey tones but first sip I was in love. Blue Thunder will always be on my coffee shelf.
I've tried quite a few of the Klatch roasts, and Blue Thunder is by far my favorite. I am a dark roast person, and this dark roast did not disappoint. I wasn't totally sure about it for the first few sips, honestly. But as I kept drinking, it got better and better. It starts a bit smokey and then has the slightest fruity aftertaste. Mhmm, perfect! Definitely adding this one to my subscription!
